Not offering at this time - To Be Announced (TBA)

This program is designed to prepare students for employment as a Physical Therapy Aide.Students will learn medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, body mechanics, vital signs, reporting, charting, coding, patient interaction skills, and the use of equipment and techniques to aid patients in rehabilitation. Individuals employed as PT Aides will work under the supervision of PTs and PT assistants. The 120 hour program can be completed in 12 weeks.

What is a Physical Therapy Aide and what do they do?

A physical therapy aide is not required to be licensed and generally assists the physical therapist (PT) and physical therapist assistant (PTA) with a variety of tasks. These may include patient transport (including safe transfers from bed to wheelchair), front office support, light housekeeping (changing linens after a patient has used them, e.g.) and assisting physical therapists and physical therapist assistants as they provide patients with physical therapy services. While a certificate is not generally required, it can give a potential physical therapy aide the background and knowledge base to stand out in a job interview, and the ability to confidently and competently communicate in the rehabilitation setting.
