Dual Credit Program

The Dual Credit Program provides an opportunity for high school students to enroll in college-level courses and receive both high school and college credit. Students can take up to two classes per semester (four classes per year) at their high school. Enrollment for classes is offered in the fall and spring.

Alvin Community College has agreements with the following high schools.

High school students may also take courses at Alvin Community College and work towards a college degree while in high school. Students may choose from courses not offered through their high school, although they will not receive high school credit; they will receive college credit if they successfully complete the course.

Advantages of the Dual Credit Program

  • Earn high school credit and college credit for the same class
  • Gain a head start in college
  • Low tuition and fees help save money
