Management

Program Description

Do you thrive in team-oriented environments where critical thinking and problem solving are valued? If so, a career in Management Development may be for you. At Alvin Community College emphasis is placed on preparing students for successful careers in entry-level management positions or advancement in an already established career. Students develop technical, marketing, organizational and behavioral management skills.

Both the Management AAS degree and Certificate programs are offered by distance learning (online) as well as face to face on campus. Contact the department chair for more information.

Career Opportunities

Management Development graduates enjoy diverse opportunities in the U.S. and around the world. Graduates work as store managers, sales representatives, office managers, management support, supervisors and human resources representatives. According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook 2006* national median annual earnings for recruitment and placement specialists were $42,420, retail managers were $38,830 and managers of non-retail were $76,840.
