Program Description

The ACC Office Administration program prepares students for a career as an administrative assistant. Students interested in the legal or medical field can explore ACC's specialized courses in legal and medical terminology and procedures. One year certificates and two year degrees are available through this program.

Career Opportunities

Projected employment of administrative assistants will vary by occupational specialty. Average employment growth is expected for medical, legal, and executive administrative assistants. Fast growing industries - such as computer and data processing services, health and legal services, education, manufacturing, government agencies, engineering, and management - will continue to generate most new job opportunities. Administrative assistants rank among the largest occupations in the U.S. economy.

The median annual earnings of executive administrative assistants is $33,410. Legal administrative assistants earn a median annual salary of $35,020 and medical administrative assistants earn an average annual salary of $25,430. Salaries vary by skill, experience, and level of responsibility.
