The Alvin Community College On-Line Orientation is intended for informational
purposes only and is a broad overview of policies and procedures. As a new
employee the information presented should help you have a better understanding
of what is expected of you, and help you feel more at ease in your department
and the College environment. This should lead to enhanced job performance!
It is the responsibility of each employee to adhere to the policies and procedures
presented. This orientation provides a clear explanation of all existing personnel
policies, procedures and practices.
The orientation procedure will assist new employees in understanding personnel
procedures, eliminate myths on matters of college-wide policy and help assure
uniformity throughout the organization. Employee orientation begins on-line
and/or with the Human Resources Office, and the immediate supervisor continues
and concludes the process with information specific to the department and position.
TDCJ Orientation is conducted annually for ACC employees who may work in /
visit the various units of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. The TDCJ
orientation is mandatory and is conducted by TDCJ personnel.
The orientation is written documentation of good faith in providing fair employment
practices and equal opportunity for present employees and future job applicants.
It is the mission of the Human Resources Office to provide leadership in the
HR development of Alvin Community College, to provide information and services
to employees with regard to staff benefits, and to provide employee relations
services.
