Access to ACCWiFi is available for current Alvin Community
College students and faculty / staff at the Alvin campus
only. ACCWiFi is limited to internet service, and there
is no access to other network resources such as network
servers or network printers.
Student accounts for ACCWiFi will be deleted at the
end of each semester after grades are posted. A new application
will need to be completed at the beginning of each semester.
Acceptance of student applications for ACCWiFi is dependent
upon current enrollment with no holds on record.
Faculty / staff accounts will be maintained for the
duration of employment. Adjunct faculty accounts will
be deleted at the end of each semester after grades are
posted.
ACCWiFi access will be available within 2 business days
of application. You will be contacted at the email address
provided with your account information.
Terms and Conditions of Services:
I understand that access to ACCWiFi
is a privilege and not a right. I understand that my
access may be monitored at anytime at the sole discretion
of the Alvin Community College administration or the
Information Technology Department. Service is provided “as is” with
no warranty specified or implied as to the fitness of
the service. I understand that ACC has taken every reasonable
precaution to protect my personal computing device from
Internet-borne threats, but that no protection can be
provided from other users of ACCWiFi. I understand that
the security of my device is my own responsibility and
that I should have a personal firewall enabled and updated
antivirus software installed. If a virus/worm/Trojan
or other malware infects my personal computing device,
I understand that I cannot hold Alvin Community College
liable for any damage incurred.
I understand the Alvin Community College Information
Technology Department will not troubleshoot my personal
computing device and any problems with that device are
my responsibility. They will not configure my personal
computing device for me and I understand that I am fully
responsible for the configuration of my device. Support
will be strictly limited to account issues such as username/password
problems and confirming that wireless connectivity exists
in the location where problems are experienced.
I understand that I am not to use
ACCWiFi to view materials that are pornographic in
nature or that violate the standards outlined in the
Alvin Community College Student Handbook or the Computer
Use Policy (Alvin Community College Administrative
Procedures Manual Appendix F). I will not use ACCWiFi
to attempt to obtain unauthorized access to other user’s
computing devices or computing resources belonging to
Alvin Community College or any other organization as
this is in violation of the Texas Penal Code (Chapter
33).
I understand these terms and conditions and that if
I do violate this policy and/or any applicable local,
state, or federal laws, I can be disciplined under the
student code of conduct including revocation of access
to ACCWiFi as well as face criminal charges filed against
me by the Alvin Community College Police Department.
