Students Learn Construction Skills Using Legos/Minecraft

Students Learn Construction Skills Using Legos/Minecraft

Local kids are developing vital motor and construction skills using Legos and Minecraft-themed crafts at Alvin Community College on July 22.

The camp is one of many this summer as part of the Busy Bodies Kids’ College.

Students built 3-D models of construction equipment; used Legos to make mosaics of characters and items in the popular video game Minecraft and created crafts using Perler beads.

“You’re learning how to build,” said Deanna Reichardt, camp instructor.

The camp is conducted by Brikz 4 Kidz, which teaches children the principles of engineering and architecture using Legos.

There will be another camp July 28-31 at ACC at Robert Turner High School.
