Alvin ISD Science Fair Winners

Alvin ISD Science Fair Winners
More than 160 Alvin Independent School District high school and junior high students participated in the 23rd Annual Alvin Science Fair at the Alvin Community College Gym on Feb. 1.
During the science fair, students competed in individual and team categories: Science Product Showcase, Health and Medicine, Physics, Earth and Space, Botany & Environmental, Chemistry, Life Science Team and Physical Science Team.
In addition to students receiving awards for first through third place and honorable mentions, three overall winners were announced and each awarded a $200 scholarship to ACC.
Nolan Ryan Junior High School student Julian Esquito won first place in Earth and Space Science for his project Soil Liquefication.
Shadow Creek High student Nakita Singh won the Botany and Environmental category for his project Novel Way to Remove Water Pollutants.
Alvin Junior High student Jennifer Bozeman placed first in Physics for her project Thermal Powered Flashlight.
The funds for the scholarship are provided by the college.
