Alvin community college tops laredo in back-and-forth affair, 10-6 Alvin community college and laredo volleyed the lead seven times on Saturday, but Alvin community college came out on top for a 10-6 win on Saturday at laredo. Alvin community college finally managed to grab the lead after a strong third inning. Alvin community college went up for good on an RBI single by Michael Newman off Edgar Flores, plating Sean Washington Scott Zimmerle racked up two RBIs on two hits for Alvin community college. Zimmerle singled in the fifth inning and homered in the ninth inning.
Luis Villarreal tossed two innings of relief without allowing a run, striking out three while giving up no hits and no walks.
Abraham Flores threw one inning of scoreless ball for Alvin community college.
In the top of the first, Alvin community college grabbed the early lead, 3-0. Alvin community college's rally started when Herb Romero singled. Then a wild pitch scored Cole Coakley Alvin community college then tacked on more runs when Romero scored and Peters scored on a sacrifice fly by Chris Quinn.
One run in the bottom of the sixth helped laredo close its deficit to 8-6. An RBI single by Claton Hencike triggered laredo's comeback. But, Felix Gomez got Mauricio Granados to ground out to end the inning.

Coakley gives Alvin community college late push to beat laredo, 4-2 Cole Coakley brought home the go-ahead run to give Alvin community college the lead in the seventh inning, as Alvin community college hung on to beat laredo 4-2 on Saturday. After Jordan Camel doubled, Coakley came to the plate with the score tied at two in the seventh inning, and doubled, plating Camel. It was a good day at the plate for Alvin community college's Coakley. Coakley went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. Scott Zimmerle baffled laredo, striking out six batters. Alvin community college's pitcher allowed two earned runs on four hits and no walks over five innings. Matt Brister threw one inning of scoreless ball for Alvin community college.
The bottom of the first saw laredo take an early lead, 2-0. Rolando Resendez singled to ignite laredo's offense. A single by Matthew Garcia then moved Resendez from first to second. Adrian Reyes doubled, bringing home Resendez. More runs came home for laredo when Garcia scored.
Alvin community college went up for good in the seventh scoring three total runs, which came home on two doubles.

Laredo's pitchers couldn't stop Coakley at the plate. Coakley went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. Jacob Lara worked out of four tricky spots for Alvin community college. He pitched six innings and allowed one earned run on four hits. Lara faced his most difficult moment in the sixth inning. Jeremy Gonzalez baffled Alvin community college on the way to the win, striking out seven batters. Laredo's pitcher allowed four earned runs on seven hits and three walks over eight innings. Kris Looper tossed two innings of relief without allowing a run, striking out two while giving up no hits and no walks. J.c. Cantu, Coakley, Travis Laird, Kevin Peters, and Quinn all collected hits for Alvin community college. Quinn led the team with two hits.
The lone run of the game for laredo crossed the plate in the second inning.

He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on six hits while ringing up six.Angelina stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the second, scoring one run on a groundout by Dylan Bates.

Cole Coakley had a good game at the plate, but Alvin community college still fell to angelina 5-1 in seven innings on Sunday at lufkin.Coakley had a strong game at the plate for Alvin community college. Coakley went 1-3 and scored one run. Coakley doubled in the third inning and singled in the seventh inning.Matt Roberts was a workhorse on the mound for angelina. Roberts pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed no earned runs, four hits and two walks while striking out three.Alvin community college scored its only run of the game in the third inning.Angelina never surrendered the lead after the third inning, scoring two runs on an RBI single by C.J. Jarvis and Angelina built upon its lead with three runs in the sixth. A error scored Zach Taylor to kick the inning off. That was followed up by that scored Colten Walla.

Cody Williams held south suburban scoreless for six innings. Williams allowed four hits, four walks and struck out four. Brian Baldwin worked out of nine tricky spots for south suburban. He pitched two innings and allowed no earned runs on one hit. Baldwin faced his toughest situation in the ninth inning.
