Alvin Community College provides a variety of welding courses designed to meet the requirements of the entry level student as well as the experienced craftsman.
The Welding Department adheres to quality standards set forth by the American Welding Society and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Our courses combine classroom studies with extensive time in the welding lab for hands-on learning experience.
Each student is furnished with a private workstation and materials to maximize learning. We maintain small class sizes with a maximum student to instructor ratio of 10 to 1 in the welding lab to ensure the best possible training. The shortage of skilled welders means that entry-level positions command excellent salaries and benefits. Our graduates have been employed by petrochemical refineries, construction companies, fabrication shops, and shipbuilders.
