Preparation for entry level nursing assistants to achieve a level of knowledge,
skills, and abilities essential to provide basic care to residents of long-term and
acute care facilities. Topics include residents’ rights, communication, safety,
observation, reporting and assisting residents in maintaining basic comfort
and safety. Emphasis on effective interaction with members of the health care
team. Student must be CPR certified prior to starting clinical class dates.

Clinical bedside care of long-term residents and/or acute care patients to
promote the continuity of care for Certified Nursing Assistants. Prerequisite:
CPR Certified.
