Join the Banking Industry: Become a Teller
One of the most important and well recognized people in any financial institution is the bank teller. Along with processing deposits, cashing checks and making change, tellers handle many special services that are extended to account holders.
In the six-week Alvin Community College Continuing Education Workforce Development Bank Teller Training Program, you will learn the skills and information you need to start or continue your career in banking.
You will learn:
- The importance of the teller’s role
- To Identify basic qualifications of the successful teller
- How to receive and pay out cash and balance your drawer
- To identify standard parts of a check
- To distinguish between genuine and counterfeit currency
- The importance of negotiating
- What to do during emergency situations
- The basics of good customer relations
- To conduct cross-selling
- How to land a job by participating in mock interviews with local bankers
The ACC Bank Teller Training Program will teach you how to employ a wide variety of technical abilities, professional skills and public relations techniques to be successful.
