Fire prevention and safety in any kind of structure depend on thorough and accurate fire inspections. Fire Inspectors visit and inspect places of business, among other places and buildings, in order to ensure that State and local fire codes are upheld.

In the new ACC Fire Inspector Certification program, you can train to perform the vital and challenging tasks required of today’s fire inspectors. This 196-hour program consists of three classes, which can be completed in as little as 10 weeks.

According to the US Department of Labor, the anticipated employment growth rate for this occupation is 9% through 2018. Employment of fire inspectors is expected to grow as fast as the average for all occupations. As cities and other areas grow, there are more buildings to inspect, so employment of fire inspectors should grow along with the population.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics lists the median annual salary for fire inspectors as $53,030.

Fire Inspector IPlan Examiner I
CEFIRT-1002-01 – 36 hours
One in a series of three courses required for Fire Inspector certification. This course meets the curriculum requirements of the TX Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) for Plan Examiner I. Demonstrate competencies set forth in the TCFP curriculum for Plan Examiner I.
