Human Resource Certificate

The Human Resource Certificate program is designed to meet the unique needs of working professionals in acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for a broad range of positions in the field of Human Resources.  These courses will help to enhance and expand professional skills for Human Resource Professionals, Managers, and Business Owners. This 45 hour certificate is 7.5 weeks long and there are no prerequisites.

A Human Resource Generalist has responsibility for employee benefits administration, often payroll, and employee paperwork, especially in the absence of an HR Assistant.  Depending on the size of the organization, the HR manager has responsibility for all of the functions that deal with the needs and activities of the organization's people including these areas of responsibility.

Course Descriptions

Introduction to Human Resource - This course is a basic overview of Human Resources and outlines the major functions, competencies, and responsibilities involved in the field of Human Resources.

Job Analysis - This course explains the nature and importance of job analysis and how it affects the organization.  Students will learn how to collect information for job analysis and also how to write a job specification.

Personnel Planning and Recruiting - This course will improve your effectiveness in recruiting candidates, and explain the main techniques used in employee planning and forecasting.

Training and Developing Employees - This course is designed to help students understand the basic training process and the increased effectiveness of training employees.

Coaching Careers & Talent Management - This course is designed to help students understand the importance of coaching and mentoring employees.  Students will understand the employees, managers, and employers career and development roles.
