Alvin Community College Continuing Education and Workforce Development offers financial assistance for many training programs and courses to students who meet specific criteria.
Texas Public Education Grants (TPEG)
State legislation has made grant funds available to students with financial need for workforce development and career training continuing education classes. Limited funds are available for persons who qualify through the ACC Financial Aid Office, to assist with payment of tuition for vocational courses. These limited funds are distributed on a first come, first served basis for qualified applicants. Books are not included. This grant does not require repayment and is applicable only for vocational courses.

Hazelwood Act - Financial Assistance for Texas Veterans
The Texas legislature established The Hazelwood Act to provide payment suspension for tuition and certain fees for Texas veterans at state-supported colleges and universities who present proof of the following:
• Residency in Texas at the time of entry into the military
• Receipt of an honorable or under honorable conditions discharge
• Service time of 180 days of active duty (excluding training time)
• Residency in Texas for a minimum of 12 months prior to college registration
Eligibility is determined from an original or certified copy of the veterans DD214. Veterans who have been discharged within the past ten years must also present a letter from the Department of Veteran's Affairs stating that the veteran is not eligible to receive benefits under the Montgomery GI Bill. Hazelwood students will not count towards the number of students that is required for a class to make.
