Professionalism in Emerging Health Care
The ACC Continuing Education Workforce Development one-day Professionalism in Emerging Health Care class offers you practical and experiential training in concepts related to providing excellence in health care.
You will gain practical insights into:
- Appropriate, professional communication
- Interpersonal skills
- Establishing boundaries with patients
- Personal traits of the professional health care provider including workplace civility, employability skills and the fundamentals of professionalism
To prepare you for the day-to-day demands of your health care career, the session will include lessons on:
- Basic problem-solving techniques to complete tasks
- Identifying attitudes and values that contribute to effective work habits
- Working effectively as part of a team
- Basic business etiquette and ethics
- Appropriate workplace attire.
To help you find a job in the health care industry, the class will also include an introduction to resume writing, sample mock interviews and developing a plan for a continually advancing health care career.
Designed to help emerging health care students participating in ACC Allied Health Care programs stand out as exemplarily candidates for jobs, this class is offered during the fall and spring semesters.
