Computer Labs & Additional Resources

Students have access to several computer labs that are networked and loaded with a wide range of software. In addition, the library provides wireless Internet service.

 

Cyberlink Computer Lab
Features two dozen computers with Internet access and software programs needed for classes, including specialized software.

Learning Lab
The Learning Lab has 30 computers with Internet access, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and interactive math tutorials. Printers are available for a small fee. Computers may be used any time the lab is open, except when classes are scheduled in the lab. Click for the Learning Lab web page.

Email Accounts
The ACC Google email service provides students with a name@stu.alvincollege.edu  email address if desired. Assistance is available for students to get a free e-mail address thru Yahoo.com, Hotmail.com or Gmail.com. Students should contact the IT Help Desk at 281-756-3544 or come by the CyberLab in A-173 to obtain one of these e-mail addresses.

WiFi (Wireless Internet Service Available for Students)
Alvin Community College has wireless Internet access for students on the Alvin campus. Students can obtain connectivity to the Internet using their 802.11b or 802.11g wireless device.

Alvin Community College is now providing wireless Internet access for students throughout the Alvin campus. Students can obtain connectivity to the Internet using their personal 802.11b or 802.11g wireless device.

To obtain access to the Alvin Community College wireless network (ACCWiFi), please visit the CyberLink Student Computer Lab in Building A, Room 173. You will need to be a current ACC student (without holds) or employee and have signed the ACC computer usage agreement.
