Federal Family Education Loan Programs

Student loans are available at a low interest rate through private lenders. These loans are backed by the federal government with repayment options that begin after the student graduates or drops to less than six (6) credit hours per semester. Loans are made through banks or lending agencies that participate in the student loan program. A list of participating institutions is available in the Financial Aid Office.

To apply, students must apply for the Pell Grant and complete their financial aid file with the college. Once that is completed, the Financial Aid Office will help students with loan application forms. Loans may be used for educational expenses, which can include tuition, fees, books, housing, and living expenses. Loan funds are delivered to Alvin Community College for disbursement to students.
