Program Description
Are you interested in pursuing a career that develops your artistic and creative
abilities? If so, a career in the Arts may be for you. Alvin Community College
provides an interactive environment where students who are interested in arts
can gain experience in painting, sculpture, drawing, design, ceramics, digital
art, watercolor, photography, jewelry making, art history and art appreciation.
The ACC Art Department provides gallery space for student art exhibits that
enable students to think about the experience the gallery provides and the approaches
to marketing their artwork.
ACC has a vast array of studios that allow for hands-on experience in the various artistic specialties. A three-dimensional pottery and sculpture studio gives students a place to work on ceramics and sculpture. The art metals studio allows for experience in jewelry-making. The Drawing and Painting studio affords a spacious, natural lighted, relaxing studio for drawing and painting. The photography studio and dark room allows students to enlarge, develop and print photos.
