Program Description
What area of theatre interests you? Acting? Directing? Lighting, sound, makeup,
costume, or set design? How about special effects or pyrotechnics? ACCs
Drama Department offers it all!
Perform in one of the five plays produced each theatre season at ACC. Past seasons have included musical and childrens shows such as Jakes Women, A Christmas Story, Nunsense, Clue, The Miss Firecracker Contest and many others. Design on some of the best theatre facilities available in the Gulf Coast region. ACCs theatre is a 370 seat proscenium with a full stage house, fully computerized lights and sound, four flying electrics, two lighting catwalks over the house, two full sized dressing rooms, fully equipped scene shop, costume shop, box office, green room, and a diner.
Further enhance your performing or technical skills with the outstanding courses in theatre offered through the ACC Drama Department. Guided by highly educated, experienced, and knowledgeable faculty you will receive training in stage movement, stage makeup, voice and diction, acting, technical theatre, and much more.

Career Opportunities
So what can you do with a degree in Drama? The possibilities are tremendous!
Graduates from ACCs Drama Department have gone on to work in positions
such as Technical Director for Disney, Producer in Los Angeles, Animated Voice
Specialist in Houston, Box Office Manager at Florida State University, and Miss
Cabaret a one woman show touring the New York & Dallas areas. Other
graduates are writers, actors, directors, production assistants, entertainment
software designers, teachers, and professors. Your career options are endless
due to the diverse and comprehensive training available in theatre at Alvin
Community College.
