Programs and Degrees
Alvin Community College offers you many choices to fit your educational needs. Our programs are defined below in four categories, Academic Transfer Programs, Technical Programs, Continuing Education Programs, and Developmental Programs.
Academic Transfer Programs
Alvin Community College offers academic programs and courses that provide the first two years of a general education. These programs prepare you to transfer to a senior college or university with a firm foundation.
We work closely with Texas colleges and universities to make sure our courses transfer. Research shows that community college students that transfer to universities often outperform their peers who take all their courses from the university.
Technical Programs
Alvin Community College also offers a wide variety of technical programs that
prepare you for specific careers. These programs are generally one to two years
in length. College faculty stay in close contact with area employers to ensure
we are teaching what you need to know to be a success. Faculty also provide
job placement assistance for students.
Alvin Community College offers courses for individuals interested in building specific skills for the workplace or for those interested in pursuing personal interests. In addition, we offer corporate consulting, training and economic development services to address the needs of a diverse workforce.
Developmental Programs
Alvin Community College developmental programs are designed to help you succeed in college-level courses. Non-credit courses in reading, math, English, and study skills are available.
