The field of computer information technology offers some of the most well-paying and sought after careers in today’s job market. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts 13% job growth through 2026, which is faster than average for all occupations. The median salary for all computer and information technology occupations was $84,580 in May 2017. According to the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), Texas will need up to 57,000 new Systems Analysts, Database Administrators, and Computer Support Specialist within the next seven to ten years.

What Will I Study?
The Computer Systems Degree curriculum will provide you with an introduction to data processing and prepare you for entry into a Bachelor of Science degree program upon completion.
The Computer Science Networking Degree/Certificate program prepares you for careers in many areas of LAN/WAN administration and design. The program will train you for the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) and/or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification exams as well as other exams such as CompTIA’s Network+, A+, and Security+.
The Computer Programming Degree/Certificate will teach you how to create instructions that tell computers which information to identify and access, how to process it, and what equipment to use. To excel in this field, you should have strong math, analytical, and communication skills.

Computer Information Technology – Programming (A.A.S. Degree)
This degree can transfer into the Bachelor of Applied Science Information Technology
program at University of Houston Clear Lake and the University of Houston Sugar Land
Bachelor of Science programs in Computer Science Information Systems and Digital Gaming
& Simulation.
Computer Information Technology – Systems (A.S. Degree)
This is a recommended course of study for students who plan to pursue a baccalaureate
degree or higher in Computer Information Systems, Digital Gaming & Simulation, Information
Technology, Management Information Systems, Game Development, Computer Science, Digital
Media, Computer Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Graphic Communications,
and other computer technology fields. This degree has a 2+2 agreement with other universities.
Yearly costs for the A.S. Degree program are approximately $4,200 for in-district students and $6,960 for those out-of-district. This includes tuition and fees.
Approximate yearly costs for the A.A.S. Degree programs are approximately $3,996 for in-district students and $6,756 for those out-of-district. This includes tuition and fees.
Costs for the Networking Certificate program are approximately $1,680 for in-district students and $2,784 for those out-of-district per year including tuition and fees.
Approximate yearly costs for the Programming Certificate program are $1,998 for in-district students and $3,378 for those out-of-district. This includes tuition and fees.
