ACC Regents Approve Maintenance Note, Tax Rate

Alvin Community College regents unanimously approved a $30 million maintenance note for campus upgrades during their meeting on September 25.

The maintenance note will fund much-needed upgrades to aging infrastructure on campus including water lines, HVAC systems, facilities updates, landscaping and exterior improvements. The board’s action will also refinance $17 million of the maintenance notes approved in 2018.

Regents also opted to bring in the same amount of revenue from taxpayers after approving the tax rate for the 2025-26 fiscal year.

Regents approved the No New Revenue rate of 15.65 cent tax rate per $100 of property value. The No New Revenue rate is the rate that generates the same amount of revenue as the previous year not including new construction.

The board also unanimously approved the hiring of Leigh Ann More as the Associate Provost for the college.

Regents also:

- approved a cooperative purchasing agreement with the 1 Government Procurement Alliance

-approved contract with Hanover Research for administering planning grant from Houston Endowment

-approved modification of board policies regarding purchasing and facilities construction

-approved nomination for the Brazoria County Appraisal District

The board will have its next meeting on October 30, 2025 at 6 p.m. in the Nolan Ryan Center.
