At Alvin Community College (ACC), we recognize that work life is an important but single component of a bigger picture of life responsibilities, goals, and obligations for each of our employees. We want to encourage our employees to create a positive work life balance specific to their unique needs. This is critical for not only the wellbeing and productivity of our employees, but also the success of the College.
Wellness
ACC encourages and promotes self-care through a healthy work environment. Full-time, benefits eligible employees can use 30 minutes of their regular work hours up to three times a week to exercise from September 1-May 15 each academic year. In addition to our walking trail, we also have a Fitness Center available for employees, students and community members.

Tobacco Cessation
ACC is a tobacco free campus as of August 2016. The College’s Board policy prohibits the possession or use of tobacco products or e-cigarettes (including vapor products) on college property. Additionally, Texas law authorizes ERS (as well as other healthcare insurance providers) to charge a premium for those employees and/or dependents who use tobacco products or e-cigarettes. Child Care
Alvin Community College is happy to provide an essential need for our students, employees and community members by offering onsite child care at an affordable price. Contact the Child Development Laboratory School for additional details.
Lactation Room
A lactation room is available in H130 near the ACC Campus Police. The area is equipped with chairs, end tables, electrical outlets, hand washing area and a lockable door. You can find additional information and guidelines for using the lactation room here.
