ACC Regents Approve 2022-23 Budget

The Alvin Community College Board of Regents unanimously approved the 2022-23 fiscal year budget during their meeting on August 11.

The $40.07 million budget is 4.2 percent more than the 2021-22 budget. The new budget will go into effect on September 1 and  includes an approximate 3 percent salary increase for employees.

The board also voted to propose a tax rate at 16.4 cents per $100 of appraised property value that will be considered during the regents’ next meeting in September. The proposed rate is less than the 18.32 cent rate approved last year. The rate includes 15.4 cents for Maintenance and Operations and the debt rate at slightly less than a penny at .98 cents.

The board also:

-approved purchase of playground sun shade for Lab School

-approved college investment policy

-approved schedule of board meetings

-approved hiring of faculty for Welding, Digital Community Technology and Drama

-approved purchasing requests for next fiscal year

-approved monthly financial reports

The board will have its next meeting on September 22 at 6 p.m. in the Nolan Ryan Center.
