Office of Academic Advising
All new students who have never attended college must meet with an Academic Advisor to discuss a degree plan, test results, course selection, and any other questions about college. New Alvin Community College students who have attended college elsewhere are encouraged to meet with an Academic Advisor, but not required.
Academic Advising Steps
- Take the TSI Assessment.
- Send transcripts from prior colleges to the Admissions Office. If you completed a GED, fill out a transcript form in the Admissions Office.
- Meet with an advisor or counselor in Advising Services. Appointments are not required.
- Bring your test scores, transcript(s), and/or transcript evaluation.
