ACC All State Band Members

Three Alvin Community College students were recently named to the Texas Community College Band Directors Association All State Band.

Jackson Cote, of Pearland and Josh Brindamour, of Liverpool and Will Herrington of Alvin were selected from among hundreds of other Texas community college students for the honor. They will perform in the Texas Music Educators Association annual clinic/convention in San Antonio.

“To say I'm proud of these students is an understatement,” said ACC band director David Griffith. “This is a great honor and well deserved it attests to the hard work and dedication that Jackson, Josh, and Will put forth in preparing for these auditions.  I’m excited that these guys are now  additions to ACC’s 20-plus year history  of having students in the TCCBDA All-State Bands”

Texas Community College Band Directors Association (TCCBDA) audition and select students from all of the community colleges statewide.  Students receive audition music in early August and submit recorded auditions in October. A panel of judges from community colleges throughout the state then evaluate the recordings and select students to participate in the TCCBDA All-State bands.

All State band members will have the opportunity to work with outstanding university band directors throughout the week at TMEA,   this year the TCCBDA Wind Symphony will be directed by Dr. Tamey Angley, director of bands at Stephen F. Austin State University and the Jazz Ensemble will be directed by Dr. Aric Schneller, Jazz Studies director at Sam Houston State University.

This is first year for Herrington, who performs with the guitar, to be named to the band. Euphonium player Brindamour and trumpist Cote were named to the All State Band in 2023.
