ACC Regents Approve Contract for Construction

The Alvin Community College Board of Regents approved a contract for construction services which is part of the Maintenance Note project currently nearing completion on campus.

The board voted unanimously to approve a $299,846 contract with Corestone Construction Service for upgrades to the college’s sidewalks and landscaping. The improvements were included in the Maintenance Note Project approved by regents in 2018.

In other action, regents heard the 2020-21 Annual Data Report from Institutional Effectiveness and Research Executive Director Dr. Pam Shefman. The comprehensive report includes key data about the college including enrollment, demographics, finances and more.

Some of the data from the report included that 68 percent of ACC students are 21 and younger, 78 percent of students take courses part time and a majority of students reside outside the college district.
