ACC Foundation Announces Scholarship Fund in Honor of Bill Lewis
To honor the dedication and passion of former Alvin Community College Communications Chair Bill Lewis, the ACC Foundation and the Lewis family have created a scholarship fund in his name.
The Bill Lewis Memorial Scholarship Fund will provide tuition assistance to ACC students in need and continue to celebrate his memory for years to come.
Lewis served as an instructor in broadcasting with ACC for 35 years and served as the college’s athletic director. For more than 30 years, he was also the voice of the Alvin ISD football games broadcast on Friday nights on KACC.
“Bill was dedicated to the mission of the ACC Foundation and the scholarship fund is a fitting honor to his memory,” said Wendy Del Bello, ACC Foundation executive director. “His passion for teaching in the Communications Department, directing our Athletics program, his involvement with the Alvin ISD Athletic program and the Alvin community are a testament to his kind, generous and hard-working spirit.”
