All ACC LVN Grads Pass License Test for 10th year
For the 10th straight year, every graduate from the latest class of the Alvin Community College Licensed Vocational Nursing program recently passed their licensure exam.
All 20 students who graduated in May 2021 took the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) this summer and passed. LVN program chair Melinda Wallace was notified about the 100 percent pass rate on her last day as chair. Wallace retired on August 31.
“Many Vocational Nursing programs in the state achieve a 100% pass rate,” Wallace said. “But the ACC program holds the distinction of being the only program to do so for 10 consecutive years. I believe this is a direct result of the care and dedication of the Nursing faculty. Each faculty member has a passion for their profession which shows in their drive to graduate safe, competent, and compassionate nurses.”
The national pass rate for the NCLEX exam is 86.5 percent.
