ACC Receives Stimulus Funds
Alvin Community College received $8.3 million from the American Rescue Plan Act recently enacted by Congress.
Under the terms of the law, half of the funding would go directly to student support. The funding will be available over the next year until September 2023.
Nearly $40 billion was allocated to higher education in the American Rescue Plan Act.
Funding from the new stimulus law is in addition to the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) that went into effect earlier this year and the CARES Act which was passed in 2020.
