ACC Regents Election Outcome

Michael Hoover beat opponent David Pickren for the Position 9 seat on the Alvin Community College Board of Regents election on May 7, according to unofficial results.

Hoover received 2,187 votes, or 57.7 percent, compared to Pickren’s 1,602 votes, or 42.3 percent.

Hoover will take the place of Roger Stuksa, who did not seek reelection.

Yvette Reyes-Hall ran unopposed for the Position 8 seat, which was vacated by former regent Andy Tacquard, who resigned in March.

Board Secretary Dr. Patty Hertenberger ran unopposed for the Position 7 seat. This will be her second term.

Winners will serve an unpaid, six-year term.

All results are unofficial until the vote is certified by the board at the Tuesday, May 17 meeting. The winners will take the oath of office after the vote certification.
