ACC Regents Approve Budget
The Alvin Community College Board of Regents approved the 2023-24 fiscal year budget during their meeting on August 17.
The $45.97 million budget will be funded in part from a 25 percent increase in state allocations due to the implementation of House Bill 8. Included in the new budget is a 4 percent pay increase for employees. There is also seven new positions as well as two reclassified position.
The regents also proposed a 15.12-cent tax rate for the 2023-24 fiscal year, which is 1.5 cents less than the previous year’s rate. There will be a public hearing on the proposed rate at 5:30 p.m. on September 28.

-approved contract with Stantec, Inc. for facilities master plan

-approved cooperative purchasing programs for 2023-24
-approved President’s goals for 2023-24
-approved hiring of Vice President of Student Services John Matula
-approved hiring of new faculty
-approved annual purchasing requests
The board will meet again on September 28 at 5:30 p.m. in the Nolan Ryan Center.
