ACC Regents Approve Software Migration Project
Alvin Community College approved a contract for the upgrade of the Enterprise Resource Management information system during their meeting on April 22.
The $254,000 project will include an institution-wide migration for the servers, equipment upgrades, assistance and more. The project will take approximately two years to complete.
“It is replacing the entire nervous system of the college’s operations,” IT Executive Director Kelly Klimpt said.
In other action, regents approved the retirement agreement for President Dr. Christal M. Albrecht. Dr. Albrecht became the college’s sixth president in 2014.
Regents approved Dr. Robert Exley as the finalist to serve as ACC’s seventh president on April 6 and will vote on a contract on April 28.
Regents also heard a report from the contractor AGCM on the progress of the Maintenance Note construction projects. Construction on the campus-wide project is nearing completion which includes building renovations, improved infrastructure, security upgrades and more.
The $25 million Maintenance Note Bond Project was approved by the Board of Regents in 2018.
Regents also:
-received a report on federal, state and private grants awarded in 2020-21
-approved revisions to the Welding certificate program
-approved revisions to the Automotive program
-heard update on Strategic Goal 1 regarding developing the college as an evidence based, data-driven organization
-approved purchase of LED lights for parking lots and jogging trail
-approved purchase of software applications for Process Technology program
-approved monthly financial reports
The board will have its next meeting on Thursday, May 27 at 6 p.m at the Nolan Ryan Center.
