ACC Regents Hear Report on Programs

Alvin Community College regents went through an overview of some Continuing Education Workforce Development programs during their meeting on February 25.

The report for the CEWD Department included Truck Driving, GED and Pipefitting and is part of the Comprehensive Program Review.

“The process exists in order to ensure that all programs have equitable opportunities to look at continuous improvement,” said Pam Shefman, ACC executive director of Institutional Effectiveness and Research.

Every ACC program undergoes a Comprehensive Program Review in a three-year cycle.

In other action, the board approved change orders for the 2018 Maintenance Note Project from the contractor O’Donnell Snider Construction.

Regents also:

-heard report on enrollment for the Spring 2021 Spring semester

-approved update to Board Policy BD (LOCAL) to allow for a consent agenda

-approved resolution to pay personnel during winter storm closure

-heard report on Strategic Goal Number 5 regarding the acquisition and proper use of college revenue

-approved hiring of Associate Degree Nursing faculty member

The board will have its next meeting on March 25 at 6 p.m.
