The Texas New Mexico Power Fund recently awarded Alvin Community College a grant to support its Biotechnology program.
The $8,000 grant will go towards purchasing a biosafety cabinet needed for the certificate courses in Biotechnology training. The cabinet will ensure that students are familiar with the equipment they will encounter in the workforce.
“We are always grateful for our community partners for the support they provide for the college,” said Wendy Del Bello, vice president of Outreach and Development. “This grant will provide equipment that is critical for student use as it better prepares them for their career.”
The TNMP Fund has issued more than $150,000 through its Power Grant program.
