When Taj Gardner thought about how to build his life after incarceration, he turned toward education. Gardner attended courses through Alvin Community College while he was incarcerated with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He recently received his degree in Liberal Arts and was released in August.
The Alvin Community College Associate Degree Nursing program recently launched its Eta Tau chapter of the Alpha Delta Nu Honors Society and inducted 11 members in a ceremony.
As future generations will have to combat the effects of climate change, Alvin Community College student Logan Marquis hopes to learn more about the issue to help address it through research. Marquis got a major boost toward his goal after NASA selected him as a National Community College Aerospace Scholar. The internship program encourages students from two-year colleges to continue their STEM education at a four-year university.
Alvin Community College faculty members honored Foreign Language instructor Itzel Richarte and Nursing instructor Justin Morgan with the 2020 League of Innovation Excellence Award.
