Texas Commission on Law Enforcement
The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement sets the licensing standards for peace officers, jailers, and emergency telecommunications in Texas. As such, admission to our Law Enforcement Academy is governed by their rules.   

Scholarships

Criminal Justice Department Scholarship
Eligibility: Returning, full-time student, majoring in Criminal Justice. Part-time students are also eligible but will receive prorated scholarships.
GPA Required: Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
Amount of Assistance: Not to exceed $700 per semester

Mike Merkel Scholarship
Eligibility: For an ACC student completing 24 hours at the end of the first year
Amount of Scholarship:
$1,000 per year
Preferred Criminal Justice Major
Financial need considered

To apply for a scholarship, you must be a current ACC student. Visit Academic Works to begin your application.

To Maintain Scholarship:

  • Enroll in 12 hours each semester
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA
