American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM)
Established in 1975 as the Association of Sleep Disorders Centers, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) is the only professional society dedicated exclusively to the medical subspecialty of sleep medicine.

As the leading voice in the sleep field, the AASM sets standards and promotes excellence in sleep medicine health care, education, and research.  The AASM has a combined membership of 10,000 accredited member sleep centers and individual members, including physicians, scientists, and other health care professionals.

American Association of Sleep Technologists (AAST)
For 35 years, AAST has been advancing, preserving, and promoting the sleep technology profession. As a national health care membership association of professionals dedicated to improving the quality of sleep and wakefulness in all people, AAST promotes and advances the sleep technology profession through continued development of educational, technical, and clinical excellence in sleep services.

Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
The Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) is an independent, nonprofit certification board that cultivates the highest professional and ethical standards for sleep health professionals by providing the leading internationally recognized credential in sleep technology – the Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential. Since the first credentialing exam administration in 1979, the BRPT has credentialed over 22,000 RPSGTs in the United States, Canada, and 32 countries overseas.
