Why Giving is Important

The ACC Foundation staff is housed on the Alvin Community College campus and gets the chance to work with students and staff every day, see their challenges and recognize their needs.  

As is always said, “It takes a village….” Well, it does.  

It is through generosity from people just like you, who offer their time, talent and monetary support that the Foundation is able to meet students’ needs and make overcoming those challenges seem just a little easier.

As a community college, many of our students are first-generation college students, some come from low-socio economic situations, and many are coming back later in life because they want to improve their career situation. A good deal of them never even dreamed of the possibility of a higher education. Sometimes all it takes is a helping hand to change a life.
