Learning and Organizational Development creates, delivers, and manages professional development and training for all employees in alignment with Alvin College's strategic goals and priorities. New Hire and Annual Mandatory Training

Alvin College is dedicated to fostering a safe work environment free from harassment and discrimination.

All new employees are required to complete New Hire Mandatory Training within 30 days of hire.

Each fiscal year, all employees are required to complete Annual Mandatory Training. Annual Mandatory Training typically takes place for a 30-day period in the fall semester around the month of September.

Skillsets Online

Through this learning platform, all Alvin College employees have access to on-demand training courses for computer skills in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Chat GPT, Leadership Communications, CompTIA, Cisco and more.

New Employee Orientation

Alvin College offers a New Employee Orientation program for part-time and full-time new hires. The program introduces new employees to Alvin College culture, as well as a variety of helpful topics about the College, policies and procedures, and benefits.

Training

Training can be customized to fit the needs of each department or group of employees. Such topics include team building, conflict resolution, customer service, building trust, performance management, employee engagement, communication skills, understanding leadership styles, and change management.
