What You Need To Apply
Information Session
Attend an information session to learn more about the Diagnostic Cardiovascular Sonography program and meet our staff. Sessions held on campus will be in S105.

Requirements
Admission requirements for the DCVS A.A.S. Degree include the following pre-requisite courses with a final grade of C or better:
- Anatomy and Physiology I
- Anatomy and Physiology II
- College Algebra or Quantitative Reasoning
- Elementary Physics
Additional Requirements to Apply
- Apply to ACC by completing the Steps-to-Getting-Started
- Submit official college transcripts to Admissions showing completion of required courses
- Apply to the DCVS program by completing an application packet
- Complete the required number of hours of professional observation here at ACC in the DCVS lab
- Take the HESI A2 exam - must be within 5 years and have a cumulative score of 75 or above
- Submit record of completed Hepatitis B series
- Submit two professional letters of reference
- Submit current American Heart Association CPR (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
Selection for Admission
Admission to the DCVS Program is competitive. Applicants are ranked by the following criteria:
- Final grades in pre-requisite classes
- HESI A2 cumulative score
Additional consideration will be given to applicants who:
- Are an ACC student for more than one semester
- Have health care experience
- Hold a degree
- Are a veteran
- Were on the alternate list in the prior application period and are reapplying
Deductions will be given for:
- F's and withdrawals in pre-requisite classes
- No show to a scheduled observation
