Juliet Ball

From ACC Dual Enrollment to Texas A&M University

Juliet Ball

I started taking classes at ACC when I was a freshman at Manvel high school. I continued taking dual credit classes during the summer and school year up until my junior year of high school. With the help of Monica Silvas, the dual credit counselor at Manvel High School and advisors at ACC, I was able to become the first person in Alvin ISD to graduate a year early from high school with my associates degree.

I received my associates degree at ACC at 16 years old 2 weeks before I graduated from Manvel High school. When I attended Texas A&M I was able to start as a junior at only 17 years old. Now two years later, I’m graduating from Texas A&M at 19 and attending graduate school to graduate at 20 years old. Without my experience with college classes, my Texas A&M classes would have been a complete shock. And without having received my degree from ACC I would be class of 2020 at Texas A&M instead of class of 2018. I am proud to be the first student in Alvin ISD to accomplish this and I credit ACC with a lot of this accomplishment.
